Dragon Chu-bo is a place that encompasses all of these elements and has been in business at this location for over ten years.
I decided to order the fried rice without hesitation, as I had heard rumours about its exceptional quality, along with the authenticity of the Mabo tofu.
While the generous portion of the mouth-watering appetizer, pork Shabu-shabu, nearly split off the plate, the owner, Mr. Shiraishi was busy stirring the wok in the back.
I wanted to enjoy some vegetable dishes as a side, so I ordered a crunchy salad.
To my surprise, I also found the Beppu speciality of chicken tempura on the menu, which I ordered without hesitation!
It was perfectly prepared—crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
The plump texture of the Chinese chilli prawns was unforgettable. Time flew by as we savoured delicious dishes, chatted, and enjoyed our drinks until it was time to pay the bill.
The restaurant is conveniently located just a few minutes from Beppu Station. The prices are reasonable, and you’ll definitely want to come back again!
